ABOUT

I’m Jacob Briggs, a UK-based music producer, audio engineer, and artist with over five years of experience in the music industry. My journey into music began at an early age, heavily influenced by my two older siblings. My sister’s enjoyment for R&B and my brother’s preference for Hip-hop, combined with my own fascination with video game soundtracks, created a diverse musical foundation. A pivotal moment in my love for music was hearing Dr. Dre’s Still D.R.E for the first time, which sparked my deep connection with Hip-hop.
Growing up, I was also captivated by the immersive soundscapes of video games. Titles such as Halo 2, Skyrim, and the Grand Theft Auto series shaped my understanding of how music can evoke emotions and create atmosphere. These influences continue to resonate in my music production.

My passion for music led me to study independently before pursuing formal education. I completed a BA in Electronic Music Production and an MA in Creative Industries Futures, where I developed essential skills in production, mixing, mastering, composition, and sound engineering. Over the years, I have worked with prominent industry professionals like Shea Stedford (2x Library Music Award Nominee, Little Mix), Ashwin Seegobin (Popcaan, Beenie Man), Tony Briscoe (Craig David, Beverley Knight), and Tim Hawes (Ivor Novello award-winning songwriter). These experiences have provided me with invaluable insights into the industry and refined my technical expertise.

I primarily use Ableton Live and FL Studio for producing, and Pro Tools for recording, mixing, and mastering. My work spans various genres, though I am particularly drawn to Hip-hop, R&B, and cinematic soundscapes inspired by my early gaming influences. I also offer a range of services, from mixing and mastering to instrumental composition, and provide both single-song services and larger projects such as EPs and albums.

In addition to my production work, I’m passionate about contributing to the creative industry. I enjoy teaching and sharing my knowledge with aspiring artists and producers, helping them navigate the industry and develop sustainable careers. I’m also constantly researching and working on projects that support career progression for creatives, ensuring that future talent has the tools and resources they need to thrive.

My creativity also extends beyond music production. As a content creator, I’m actively involved in producing entertaining and educational content. I plan to expand my presence by sharing his views on education, the music industry, and offering tutorials and advice for fellow musicians and producers.

Despite the challenges I’ve faced, including navigating the music industry and balancing my creative projects, I remain committed to my craft. I continue to evolve as an artist, producer, and mentor, striving to make a lasting impact on the music world.
